"Nicki Minaj is ready to take flight with the video for “Starships.” Young Money’s First Lady escaped to paradise to shoot the video for her top 10 single.
Nicki is on location in Hawaii this week to film the clip for the RedOne-produced hit, which is currently No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Anthony Mandler is in the director’s chair. “@Nickiminaj you ready to take them to another planet #starships,” tweeted the filmmaker, who has worked with Rihanna, Drake, and Jay-Z.
Expect to see plenty of eye candy in the summery clip. The sexy treatment calls for lots of skin, swimsuits, and male models. In the first photos from the set, she stands atop a platform over a stream sporting a bright green wig and pink bikini with hood and long skirt.
The rap diva recently hinted at another surprise collaboration on her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, due April 3. “So in addition to having 1 of my fave NY niggaz (who I’ve never worked with) on the album, I now have a Hip Hop LEGEND. WOW,” she tweeted."
