If it had not been for the Tea Party, we would have had a clean debt ceiling increase and been downgraded to BBB instead of AA+. The CNBC host tried very hard to disprove Santelli's contention that we have a spending problem. He tried to say that we should raise taxes, of course. He must be a Democrat. Democrats never met a tax they didn't like. These idiots need to be sidelined out of American politics. You can prove to them that raising taxes reduces overall revenues to the government, but they still don't care. All they want to do is to hurt their fellow Americans. There can be no other explanation for the mania to raise taxes, despite the fact that it lowers revenues to the government.
