Abhay Deol’s Road, Movie’s been invited to have a world premiere at the 2009 International Film Festival on September.
Unlike other Bollywood films like that will be in the Gala Presentation section mainly for the Indian diaspora, Road, Movie will be shown the best of the West at the Special Presentations which is a showcase of high-profile films around the world.
The film was shot on a lush canvas with festival circuit favourite Tannishtha Chatterjee and star Bollywood actor/director Satish Kaushik, both who gave notable performances in the 2007 British film Brick Lane, accompanying Abhay.
It is written and directed by Dev Benegal, whose first feature presentation English August, was hailed as a landmark in contemporary Indian cinema and had ignited a wave of independent Indian filmmakers. His second feature presentation Split Wide Open premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.
