Sabbath could end Jewish school's basketball playoff run

The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools refuses to change the game time, which falls at 9pm on Friday night, well after sundown and the start of the Jewish Sabbath. The Bergen school is an Orthodox school. For those not already aware, Orthodox Jews are highly observant of religious rules and customs. The school has even offered to pay the cost of rescheduling the game. The appeal has been denied.

In fact, one of the children was quoted as saying that God doesn't take a week off from us, so we should not take a week off from God. I bet his parents are proud of the son that they raised.

I am puzzled by the intransigence of the Association, since they mention "Parochial" schools in their title. Doesn't that mean religious schools? Why are there no games scheduled on Sunday? Ever? TAPPS Contact Info: phone (254) 947-9268 fax (254) 947-9368 email: edd@tapps.net twitter: @TAPPSnet

"XXL has let go their anticipated XXL 2012 Freshman Class cover! Peep it below and see who made the cut.

In the past five years that XXL has been picking Freshman classes, never once has making the list been easy. This year included. Similar to 2011, the hype around the Freshmen Class has continued to grow by leaps and bounds, surprising even us with its popularity. For this class the buzz began earlier than ever, four months before the cover was even shot. And it seemed like everyone had a list. From subdued music fans to diehard rap junkies, from Twitter stalkers to industry heavies and featherweights, folks wanted their list to be the XXL list. We listened, asked opinions, took notes.

Drake Speaks On Rappers Taking Shots At Him

"Drake continues to not really care or respond to those rappers who have been taking subliminal or not-subliminal shots at him, including Pusha T, Common and Future. In the latest issue of VIBE he responds to all these guys, saying he has no problem with them."

“I’ve got no issues with him,” he says of Future, who was upset that Drake didn’t appear in his video, “Tony Montana.” “I’m happy I got on the song.” Pusha T, who once cryptically rhymed that, “the swag doesn’t match the sweaters,” gets off easy, too. “I’ve been really open about my love for the Clipse,” he says. “I don’t know, maybe that guy is bored.” Ludacris, who was accused of stealing Big Sean and Drake’s hashtag flow, also receives a halfhearted smack down, “That’s a case of someone trying to use my marketing money to get things going again for themselves. That didn’t affect my day, my month, my year. I didn’t take any of that seriously.”

Big Sean Speaks On Sophmore Album, Production From Kanye & No I.D.

Big Sean recently sat down and spoke to Bootleg Kev, "and he gave us some details on his Sophmore album. The follow up of "Finally Famous: The Album," will feature production by Kanye West and No I.D.

“Yeah, there’s going to be some Kanye production. We had a couple of Kanye productions for the first one but they didn’t make the cut. One got sample clearance, couldn’t get the sample cleared in time, and the other one we just didn’t think it fit the album. Yeah, we got a lot of stuff on deck,” Big Sean told Bootleg Kev.

On the No I.D. produced-joint, Sean said, "No I.D., we’ve got a song that’s going to change the world. It’s very inspiring,” he revealed. “The inspiration, when you’re inspired, when you get inspired, that’s the best thing to do, through your music. I could tell you it’s an inspirational record that’s going to change the world. One verse, I rap from a perspective and the other, I rap from a crazy perspective. It’s a concept record, it’s crazy.”

Since his debut album, Big Sean comments that he's ready to take it to another level, "Now, I can take it to another level with the artistry, and that’s what I’m really excited about, to be able to grow from there and go hard. I feel my new music is more reminiscent of my earlier work, only way better because I’m a way better rapper now. So I think that’s the best way to do it, to really take me back to what got me to where I am and just take it to another level.”"

Jim Jones Involved In Brawl, Arrested & Maced

TMZ "reports that Jim Jones was involved in a brawl last night,  which resulted in his arrest. It reportedly took five cops and some mace to subdue him. Read the details below.
Sources close to Jones tell TMZ the rapper was walking through the casino after a party hosted by Diddy at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Our sources say a guy, who seemed intoxicated, came up to Jones and started talking smack to him, which Jones tried to ignore.

According to our sources, the guy then hit Jones in the face and Jones fought back in self defense. Then the guy's friends jumped in ... then Jim's people jumped in ... and IT WAS ON!!!

We're told Jones had no idea who the guy was or what triggered his beef with Jones.

Sources close to Jones say he was arrested and it took the aforementioned cops and mace to bring him in. We're told he has since bonded out and is headed back home soon.

Jones had no comment. The hotel had no comment as well, and referred us to the Connecticut State Police. No word back from them so far."

Usher, Diddy Join Romeo Santos at Madison Square Garden

"Romeo Santos had Madison Square Garden on its feet last night with a sold-out show featuring surprise guests Usher and Diddy. The Bad Boy mogul joined the Bachata King for “I Need a Girl,” sticking around to perform “It’s All About the Benjamins,” “I Get Money,” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.”

Diddy co-signed the former Aventura frontman. “He’s definitely the newest, biggest superstar in the game,” he told the sea of screaming fans. “He’s gonna be around for a long time.”

Usher also hit the stage during the encore to perform the Rico Love-helmed “Promise” as confetti fell from the sky."

Fan Accuses Chris Brown Of Stealing Her iPhone

"Chris Brown can't seem to get out of the news lately. TMZ reports that Chris Brown is being accused of stealing a fan's iPhone. According to a rep for the Miami Police Department, a police report was filed Sunday for "robbery by snatching."

Supposedly what went down is that, a 24-year-old girl, Christal Spann, followed Brown and Tyga as they left Cameo nightclub early in the morning, and snapped a shot of Breezy getting into his Bentley with her iPhone. Christal told the cops that when Brown saw she had snapped a pic with her cellphone, he grabbed the phone and said to her, "Bitch, you ain't going to put that on no website." The police reports indicate that he then rolled up the window and proceeded to drive away with the girl's iPhone in hand.

A rep for the Miami Police say that no arrests have been made and no warrants have been put out, they are still investigating the situation. However Chris Brown is still on probation for assaulting Rihanna so if he is arrested it's not good news for him."

Andre 3000 Talks On Outkast, His Solo Album

"While fans have been waiting awhile for an Outkast reunion, in a recent interview with GQ Andre 3000 dismisses rumours that they are getting back together. On the plus side though, it sounds like Three Stacks is going to be less elusive than he has been.

He tells GQ he is resurrecting his clothing line, "Benjamin Bixby," shortnening it to just "Bixby," "It's going to be real exciting," Andre says, "I can't say too much about it, but I can say this year and next year there's going to be a lot of cool things coming from me fashion-wise. Bixby is one of them. Also musically, sound-wise, and fashion. You'll see a lot of releases."

As for a new Outkast album here's what Andre had to say: "There's been a lot of talk on the Internet about an OutKast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another OutKast album. There's a lot of music on the horizon. I've been living off the excitement of new artists. I've been privileged to have these new artists kind of reach out and grab back and say, "Hey, Andre, we want you on this song." So I've been taking those calls and for the last two years, I've been doing collaborations. So these new artists have kind of been keeping me alive. I've just really been feeding off of that and this year I think I'm planning to do a solo project. I don't know when it will come out, but hopefully it'll come out this year. As far as OutKast, I really don't know if or when that will happen."

On a solo album: "The only thing I can really say is I'm going to get back to having fun because that's what it was all about when I started this in high school—with OutKast—those were like high school dreams. I'm 36 now, so I have grown-man dreams. This album will just be me being myself as normal."

On the biggest misconception about him: "I've never gotten that question. This biggest misconception... that it's easy for me, I guess, is the biggest misconception. People think you kind of ride on this wave, this non-human wave, and I think that's kind of wrong to put that on entertainers. But I think that's a big thing for me. People talk about Andre 3000, they talk about fashion, they talk about film, they talk about music, and it's almost like they put you in this place, but it's work. It's hard work just like anything else.""

As for R&B artists, he hinted at signing Ashanti: "I think we're working with Ashanti right now.""

Whitney Houston's Family Speaks On Bobby Brown Leaving the Funeral

"The family of Whitney Houston has given their side on why Bobby Brown left Whitney Houston's funeral last Saturday. Houston family lawyer Mark Trigg called up an Atlanta radio station, saying that Bobby didn't agree with the seating arrangements and brought uninvited guests.

The lawyer also said that Bobby was invited from the beginning to sit with the family and that he and Bobby's attorney personally worked out the seating arrangements. He explained, "We had a number of discussions prior to the service and a very clear understanding as to exactly what was supposed to take place. Bobby was always invited to sit with the family at the outset. This was a very full, packed congregation...and there literally wasn't a seat available....So this was not about anything other than practical space considerations."

Trigg said that things became more complicated when Bobby wanted to bring his three children to the service. Trigg claimed that Bobby agreed that he would sit in the first three pews reserved for Whitney's family and his three older children would sit with his brother Tommy a few rows behind. But once the service started, the lawyer said Bobby invited the trio to join him.

Trigg continued, "When that happened, security discreetly, politely, respectfully said, 'Bobby you're welcome to stay here but we need to ask the three children to go sit with their uncle given space limitations.' That was the deal and there shouldn't have been any problem at that point. But for whatever reason, he took offense at that."

Trigg also said that Bobby attempted to talk to Bobbi Kristina, but she wanted to be left alone and Bobby did not "respect her and her wishes during the service." Trigg said that if Bobbi Kristina had intervened, security would "not stand in the way" and would have made sure they connected. But once security blocked him, he decided to leave.

Trigg continued, "For whatever reason he decided he just wanted to leave the service. So he got his three children, went up and kissed the casket, and they walked out of the service." He added that Bobby previously told the family he wouldn't be staying past 2 p.m. anyway as he had a concert with New Edition later that night.

Trigg added, "It had to be a difficult time for him. None of us exercise our best judgment when we're under that kind of emotional strain. So I certainly don't stand in judgment of him.""

Word Up: Joint Projects In Hip-Hop Becoming A Trend

"A recent trend that has surfaced in hip-hop is to do collaborative projects with another artist. I'm not saying that artists haven't done this before, I'm saying that it's become a trend. Arguably two of the greatest, Kanye West & Jay-Z, may have gotten this trend going when they dropped Watch The Throne. That was definitely a successful collab that everyone was (and still is, it seems) pumped about. And now there have been rumours of a lot of other joint efforts coming up (and some have already dropped). A few of these I am excited for, but there are also a few that have me asking what the fuck?

I know that I always get excited when I hear that two artists I love are working together-- I mean, having two of your favourite artists on a track together is something any fan loves. But I think that one person has to be a fan of both artists. The artists have to share a similar vibe, or balance eachother out in a way for it to work well. You can't just put any two artists together for a collab project and get results like Watch The Throne.

Case in point: Gucci Mane and V-Nasty. Their joint effort was a failure and I think that's because, honestly, what Gucci Mane fan would also actually be a fan of some white girl who was only famous for inappropriately using the n-word? She was not a white girl who had any kind of skill on the mic. She only dragged Gucci down. Gucci Mane is obviously not the most lyrical, but he has some brilliantly ignorant ish that sells well to his fans, whereas V-Nasty is just ignorant. No brilliance there as far as I can tell. And no fans either.

On the other end of the spectrum, Drake has confirmed that he and Rick Ross have plans to do a joint mixtape called YOLO. This is something I can postulate will be extremely successful. Why is that? These are two fairly mainstream artists who I would assume share a lot of the same fans. On top of this, they are both skilled, not necessarily in the same way though. In general, when Drizzy and Ross are on a single together, fans get excited. They balance each other out well, and they are actually both really good at doing hooks. On top of this, they are two of the biggest names in the game right now so it is to their advantage to work together and expand what is already a large fan base. I am not the biggest Rick Ross fan, but I don't mind him in small doses. I wouldn't go out of my way to get Rozay's music but if he's doing something with Drake, I'd definitely cop it. In that way Ross is reaching a wider audience and vice versa for Drake. Who knows, maybe after a Drake x Rick Ross collab I'll get really into Ross (probably not).

Another possible joint project we got word of is an A$AP Rocky & ScHoolboy Q album. This too I could assume would do very well. These two rappers share the same underground hip-hop fan, perhaps on the edge of the mainstream. Not only do they have similar fans, but these are two artists who have worked together before, and their past collabs were well-recieved by fans. They are both up & comers who individually are bringing a new sound and flow into the game.

Lastly, I want to consider Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa's joint mixtape How Fly. I know this is an old collab, but it was dope when it came out (back in 2009). I guess they did it “before it was cool.” At that time Wiz Khalifa was still coming up in the game. Both Spitta and Wiz were underground rappers, talking similar shit (weed etc.), and sharing a similar laid-back sound. And so most fans of Jet Life were also fans of TGOD. Now Wiz may have lost some of his underground fans because he has gone a little mainstream with his sound, but nonetheless, this project was, and still is, a fan favourite. Shit, now I wanna go back and listen to that tape.

Basically I just wanted to think about what makes a successful collaborative project and why that is, since it sounds like there may be a few coming up in the near future. So leave your thoughts on the subject below."

"Strictly For My Taylors's" Wiz Khalifa's Announcement

Strictly For My Taylor's

"Im high as fuck and don’t even know to start this so ima just say thank you to everyone who’s supported the TAYLOR GANG movement and showed love up to this point. We’ve all grown so much since i first came onto the scene and most of all inspired a whole new generation of muh fuggas who aren’t afraid to be themselves and unite. Before there were Taylors, the game was lacking fun, unity, positivity, and love for one another. Shit, your favorite rappers weren’t even getting paid well. You guys changed that, and the game shld forever be in debt to you. I remember getting 500 dollars for a show to fly out and see kids who had no idea what a wiz khalifa was, and you crazy muh fuggas showed up. Had a great time, and spread the word. Its ya’lls spirit who revived the rap game and brought back the true art to this shit. Your demand for live shows made it possible for a lot of rappers to come from nothing and feed their families. Promoters too, more kids are managers, dj’s videographers. Shit everyones eating. Thanx to you Taylors!!!! Take credit for that shit. Lol

Moving forward we gotta take that positivity with us. Theres tons of different crews now which is so inspiring because people are finding their own voice and unique lane. As Taylor Gang WE FUCK WIT EVERYBODY. We aren’t afraid to say we’re fans of other artists and bump their music, go to their shows and promote them to the top. Showing equal love. Thass Taylor’d. Dnt let anyone ruin your spirit or make you feel uncomfortable about what you like. What we say goes. Not them. Thass what started this whole thing regardless of what people think. Sayin fuck them and doin what makes us feel free. Dnt let anyone take ur view on things and twist it against you. Dnt let em make you feel like you weren’t the first.

Anyone questioning my choice in clothing as of lately (lol) I’ll just go out and say that it was needed. In a climate where everyone is looking and sounding the same, i always try to inspire my fans to be different. And i lead by example. At one point the way I used to dress was considered “different” but now its very much the norm and accepted. Which is cool. Thass what we do it for, but the next step had to be made. Im older, my wife is a supermodel, and ima trippy ass nigga. My clothes reflect that. My toms cost $45. My Louboutins cost $2500.

Moving on to the music, I haven’t been this excited about any of my projects ever. I remember when i made kush and orange juice, I listened to it and knew I had created a new genre that wld change music. The mistake i made on Rolling Papers was thinking it was time to move on from that genre not knowing that it had impacted people so much. The album did great numbers, but creatively wasn’t my best work. No regrets though. We live and we learn. So for my fans sake and own personal enjoyment,  Ive gone further into the world we’ve created and elaborated on our genre with the mixtape Taylor Allderdice and of course my sophomore album ONIFC. Im so confident in the artistry and creativity of these projects because so much living went along with them. These aren’t songs aimed to be hits or widely accepted or even understood. Iss for people who live like us and can relate. And informative to those who can’t. Either way we’re inviting mu fuggas deep into our world and I can’t wait. I got new visuals, a new clothing line, and the new show is gonna be amazing. This is for us. Taylor Gang Or Die."

Kreayshawn Smokes From a Banana Bong and Talks Sexuality in GQ

"Kreayshawn is no stranger to controversy. The “Gucci Gucci” rapper plays up her Kreazy persona in the March issue of GQ. In the photo shoot by Christian Anwander, the Oakland native smokes from a banana bong, wears speaker heads as a dress, flips the bird on camera, and turns a microphone into a gun. The magazine heads west to hang with Kreayshawn and her Kreay gang to discuss her new money, dream collaboration, and sexuality.

On the first thing she bought upon signing to Columbia Records for a reported one million dollars: “I went to the corner store and I got a pack of Hot Cheetos and I got my favorite Cup Noodles.”

On her dream collaboration with the late Rick James: “I could see him coming up with some crazy new funk pop sound and I’m all about changing genres.”

On her young fan base: “I love my fans no matter what. I can’t help that they’re young, pre-teen girls. I love pre-teens, very impressionable.”

On almost being cast on Oxygen’s “Bad Girls Club”: “I was watching this episode where this girl got hella bleach thrown on her, and I was like, I don’t want to be on a show where I’ll get chemically poisoned and get jumped out in my sleep and shit. It’s not enough money for that.”

On her sexuality: “I’m, like, a person who likes love. And I can find love in any type of person. I’ve dated girls and I’ve liked girls. But they’re usually straight girls, so it never works out. I mean, I’m not that gay, so I don’t have the energy to convince someone else to be gay, you know?”"

Vogue Has Nicki Minaj Feeling Blue In New Interview

"Nicki Minaj scores a feature in the latest issue of Vogue. The publication takes a look at the rapper/singer's impressive accomplishments racked up in a short amount of time and her lifestyle."

Born in Trinidad, Minaj came to the States when she was five, grew up in Queens, and attended the prestigious LaGuardia high school for the performing arts (it was the model for the school in Fame). Her fashion education also began there. “I was dressing in Tommy Hilfiger baggy shirts and Boss jeans, but then I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady—pantsuits, heels, lots of makeup. I thought she was larger than life. She once did my makeup—I had never seen myself made up before. I didn’t want to wash it off; I felt like I had one day to live this fantasy of being a glamour girl.”

She currently lives in a condo in L.A., where she moved for the weather but also to escape “some bad memories.” Though she declines to divulge much about her personal life, she readily admits to snuggling up in hotel beds, unwinding after a performance by watching Forensic Files and Judge Judy. Minaj insists she’s terrible at small talk and never goes out much, except for the occasional foray to a favorite restaurant. “I went to Negril the other night, and I brought, like, ten of the fans who were waiting outside with me, and bought them all food!”

Now Minaj is expected to be a glamour girl every day. Her ensembles—“They’re costumes, not outfits”—are often custom-made or imported from Japan, where little-known designers like Shojono Tomo supply items like the nutty plastic apron Minaj wore during New York Fashion Week last September. (If she has yet to market her distinctive naughty–baby doll look, Minaj has already entered the world of cosmetics, launching a nail-polish collaboration with OPI and becoming a 2012 M.A.C. Viva Glam spokesperson.) In her downtime, she is far from label-obsessed. “If I can combine designer things with other things, I’m a happy camper.” Not so with accessories. At one time she was spending $50,000 a month on “Giuseppe, Versace, YSL, and Fendi shoes. And I bought tons of Vuitton bags. When you’re a young girl from Queens, you’re going to stock up on those bags.”

His And Her Remixes: Rihanna And Chris Brown Reunite On Wax

"The moral police are disgusted. Those who prayed to the gossip gods Rihanna and Chris Brown – one of pop music’s most popular couples ever – would rekindle a flame (that ended horribly) will rejoice. And both sides’ll meet at center court to combat the duo’s new record, Rih-Rih’s “Birthday Cake (Remix)” and Chris’ “Turn Up The Music (Remix).” The success of the records are pretty much a forgone conclusion. Both are pop star darlings and both encompass a healthy bit of “edge” to their personas. That, alone, is a recepie for Billboard ascension.

Yet, it’s the politics around the records which’ll have the world talking. What Chris did was horrific and for doing so the court of public opinion will never let him truly live that down. No amount of apologies or tears-driven award shows performances will erase the past (his “now you see it/now you don’t” Twitter rants don’t help his cause either). And truthfully, Chris should pray to whatever higher power he worships every night he’s not an E! True Hollywood Story. However, if Chris’ act of domestic impropriety really is that wickedly evil, then maybe we should refrain from appreciating any record from James Brown, Miles Davis or Rick James again. Or, how I see it, maybe C.B. will have to kick the bucket before he makes the transition from “horrible person” to “legend with flaws.” Because, say what you will about this generation’s choice in music, Chris Brown is a modern day legend. I’m not defending his actions in the least bit, please understand this; instead, I’m choosing to look at the situation from a different vantage point. Plus, if Chris attracts a certain level of criticism, then Rihanna does too for even potentially putting herself back in a situation that caused her to miss the 2009 Grammys.

I guess what I’m trying to say is Chris Brown and Rihanna are not moral barometers, regardless of how much the world pegs them to be. If they represent this much of an influence over impressionable minds, parents need to do what my mother did to me with Hip-Hop in the ’90s – threaten to skin me alive if I ever decided to recreate what I heard on wax or saw my favorite entertainers portraying. Tupac’s influence over my life and how I take in music will always hold precedence, but let me have spit into a single camera growing up yelling “Have a good summer, BIYATCH!” I wouldn’t be alive right now. Whatever though, let me shut up before opening a can of worms that’s bigger than this post, these remixes, myself or anyone reading. Enjoy (or choose not to enjoy) the songs. Either way you won’t be able to avoid them."

Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg Says Nicki Minaj's "Starships" Is One Of The Most Most Sellout Songs In Hip Hop History

"Nicki Minaj has made it perfectly clear that she is going in more of a pop direction with her career with some of her recent releases. It doesn't seem to be hurting her fanbase, which continues to grow. Fans of her pre-Young Money work probably haven't been thrilled, but the Harajuku Barbie most likely isn't targeting them anyway.

On Valentine's Day, Nicki released her latest single "Starships." The RedOne produced song is intended to be a crossover hit for her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

“There was so much love surrounding the making of the song, because RedOne is just so sweet to work with," she told Ryan Seacrest when the song premiered. "He just sent me that one day and he said, ‘Hey, I got something for you!’ I was like ‘You got to be kidding me, right?’ I went to the studio and started writing…scratch that…I didn’t even write the first verse! That was just me mumbling and just saying the first thing that came to my head, and we recorded it, because I just felt…like let’s go to the beach…let’s go get away…It was just so good. It feels good!”

Not everyone is feeling good about the song though. New York's outspoken on air personality Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97 thinks the Young Money starlet went too pop and he let his listeners know.

"I'm not saying Nicki's not a rapper or she can't rap, because the opposite is true," he said. "By nature she is an incredibly talented rapper. But I am a hip-hop head and to be frank this song right here 'Starships' is literally one of the most sellout songs in hip-hop history.""

Muhammad Ali's 70th Birthday - Kelly Rowland & Stevie Wonder Cover Whitney Houston’s ‘Greatest Love of All’

"Kelly Rowland paid tribute to a late legend while performing with a living legend. The R&B diva graced the stage at Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday celebration over the weekend with a cover of Whitney Houston’s 1986 classic “The Greatest Love of All,” accompanied by Stevie Wonder on piano.

The song was originally recorded by George Benson for the 1977 Muhammad Ali biopic The Greatest.
The Destiny’s Child diva shared memories of meeting Houston early in her career. “I remember the first time I met her, she was just such an angel and so supportive and had great words of encouragement to say about the music industry,” she said. “To meet such an icon and a legend like her, you’re just like, ‘I was in her presence.’”

Watch her honor one of her inspirations with a heartfelt performance."

Gallup shows Santorum leading by 8 points

Santorum could indeed be an electable candidate, according to recent data.
Gallup's daily tracking poll shows Rick Santorum continuing to gain momentum among national Republican voters, with the former senator now holding an 8 percentage point lead over Mitt Romney. Santorum earned the support of 36 percent of voters, up one percent from Saturday. Romney fell by one percent to 28 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (Ga.) and Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) held steady at 13 percent and 11 percent respectively.
Hat Tip American Power.

One thing that puzzles me. Why did Gallup show Mitt Romney versus Obama numbers (48 to 48) and Gingrich versus Obama (Obama leads 53 to 41), but not Santorum versus Obama. With Santorum in the lead, it seems like Gallup is either hiding something, or doing a poor job of polling.

Rihanna – The Road To Talk That Talk Vlog

"Rihanna takes us behind the scenes as her Loud tour ends in Boston, MA. It's pretty cool watching Rihanna and her dancers prank each other on stage in the middle of the show.

The cameras them follow Riri as she flies home to Barbados for some much needed down time.

Katy Perry pays a visit as Rihanna starts getting ready to start working on Talk That Talk in part two which follows her through the recording process of that album."

This time, it's me snowboarding

Yep, this is yours truly snowboarding today. However, I preserve deniability due to wearing lots of obscuring clothing.

I hope your long President's Weekend (Presidents except Obama, of course) is an enjoyable one.

Bobby Brown Explains His Early Departure From Whitney Houston’s Funeral

"Whitney Houston's funeral packed the inside of Newark's New Hope Baptist Church Saturday. But one notable person who was absent from the crowd was her ex-husband Bobby Brown.

A witness tells Us Weekly that Brown "was allowed to go in, pay his respects and then he had to leave. He was red-eyed going up to the casket and then left. He was there for 15 minutes."

Addressing the speculation that he was thrown out, turned away and rumors that he didn't show at all, Brown, who's schedule to perform at a concert Saturday, has released an official statement, explaining the situation in full.

"My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife  and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how."

Earlier this week, a source told Us that there is still underlying tension between Houston's relatives and Brown, who married Houston in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in 2007.

"There are family members who felt Bobby drove Whitney into drugs," one source explained. "But now Bobby is clean and Whitney has unfortunately passed. So there's resentment.""

Tyga’s “Careless World” Album Pulled From Stores : Coming 21st

"Tyga seems to be having the worst luck with releasing his album “Careless World”. After several pushbacks, the album was finally set to be released on February 21st. Now it seems that stores, such as Best Buy and iTunes, are pulling the album because of an unauthorized Martin Luther King speech being used. The MLK speech can be found on the album’s first track ‘Careless World’. From what we can see, the label is going to resolve the issue and hopefully have the album in stores in 2 weeks."

Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, & Stevie Wonder Perform at Whitney Houston’s Homegoing

"Whitney Houston’s loved ones gathered to say farewell to the legendary singer they called “Nippy” at a private funeral in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday. Her fans across the world were able to view the homegoing service, which was broadcast globally from the New Hope Baptist Church, where Whitney grew up.

Following remembrances from her family and friends including Pastor Marvin Winans, Kevin Costner, Clive Davis, and cousin Dionne Warwick, some of music’s greatest voices performed emotional tributes to “The Voice” including Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder, Kim Burrell, and the Winans family.
Alicia Keys fought back tears as she shared memories of the woman she affectionately called Meema.
“I feel like in so many ways, she reached back to so many people,” said Alicia, who sang “Send Me an Angel.” “She reached back to me, she reached back to Monica and Brandy and Jordin [Sparks] and all these beautiful young artists, and made us feel strong and capable and loved. She’s an angel to us and she’s been an angel to us. I think we’ve been sent an angel for a long time.”

Stevie Wonder personalized his classic “Ribbon in the Sky” for his dear friend. “This is such an emotional moment,” said Wonder. “I want to just stop and give all praise to God for just allowing me to be in life at the same time as Whitney.”

A visibly shaken R. Kelly performed “I Look to You,” the song he penned for Whitney’s 2009 album. “We love you, Whitney. Rest in peace,” he said.

Other celebrities paying their respects included Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, L.A. Reid, Monica, Brandy, Ray J, and Diane Sawyer."
